Sacred Sundays

We know from the scriptures that the sabbath is a day of  “rest, holy to the Lord.” Exodus 31:15

In the Doctrine and Covenants we are given counsel about what we should do on Sundays.

“And that thou mayest more fully keep thyself unspotted from the world, thou shalt go to the house of prayer and offer up thy sacraments upon my holy day;

For verily this is a day appointed unto you to rest from your labors, and to pay thy devotions unto the Most High;

Nevertheless thy vows shall be offered up in righteousness on all days and at all times;

But remember that on this, the Lord’s day, thou shalt offer thine oblations and thy sacraments unto the Most High, confessing thy sins unto thy brethren, and before the Lord.” Doctrine and Covenants 59:9-12

 His promise to us is this:  “Verily I say, that inasmuch as ye do this, the fulness of the earth is yours.” Doctrine and Covenants 59:16

So What do you do with His day?  What is His day for you?

Perhaps you feel the same way as Elder Russel M. Nelson, an Apostle of Jesus Christ.  He sees the Sabbath as a day of love and service.

We would love to share what the Sabbath means to our Woodbridge Stake members. Share a photo of what you and your family do.  Make a video.  Send in a description of your Sabbath. Share a story of an experience you have had on the Sabbath.  Please share your Sacred Sundays by sending an email to woodbridgestakeblog@gmail.com
