This morning I met a curly headed three-year-old who showed me two tiny cars, one clutched in each of his little hands. “I share my toys,” he told me and then proceeded to drive them around the carpet with his friend. We learn to share when we are just learning to walk and talk. Sharing is a part of learning how to be a friend.
At various stages of our lives we share different things with our friends. Perhaps at 8 years old a child shares Legos or a fun new game that she created. Our pre-teens share favorite books and silly videos. Our teenagers want to share video games and favorite music. And as adults we love to share time with our friends.
And now with the advance of technology and social media we share even more. What an incredible opportunity to share the things that mean the most with our friends. What we often don’t realize is how the things we share spread to others as they are re-shared and our likes and thoughts travel the world.
This blog is one of those travel vehicles. Stories posted on this blog have been seen as far away as Indonesia, Japan, and South Africa. Whether we are sharing a missionary highlight, what we do on the Sabbath, a photo of a friend in the gospel, or a story about our youth, we are sharing a light with the world, which is exactly what Jesus Christ wants us to do as members of His church.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
We have a wonderful chance right now to share with others the peace Jesus Christ brings into our lives. Take a few minutes and share this amazing video with someone as the world prepares to celebrate Easter. Be a part of the vehicle that will help Christ’s message of peace to travel the world.
